Brittney has been interested in medicine for as long as she can remember. She volunteered in the hospital one summer, and each day she looked forward to spending time with patients and getting to know them personally. Brittney knew she wanted a career where she could combine her love for science and passion for connecting with others. Her favorite part of the job is patient follow-ups to see patients’ progress. Brittney believes setting realistic expectations is so important when discussing care plans with patients as there is not always a quick fix for everything.
As a physician assistant, Brittney is easy to talk to and thinks it’s essential to help patients feel comfortable expressing all their concerns without hesitation. What brings her the most satisfaction professionally is assisting patients through uncomfortable or anxiety-inducing procedures. She loves when someone admits that it wasn’t nearly as bad as they imagined. Brittney has learned that no patient is truly a “textbook case” because every individual has specific needs and goals. With this in mind, she makes sure to bring an open mind and consideration to each interaction.
Brittney is originally from East Greenbush, NY. She enjoys making connections with her community, and remaining local throughout all her studies and training has allowed her to do that by filling different roles in healthcare over the years. Brittney has two rescue dogs and is interested in volunteering at the local animal shelter. She enjoys cross-country skiing and hiking in the Adirondacks.
